When I apply the brakes on my '79, the steering wheel momentarily turns to the left. It's not the constant pull expected from a bad caliper, but a drag of about one to two seconds that goes away. The amount of drag depends on how hard the brakeds are applied. Any suggestions on what I should look at? Thanks.
How old are the rubber hoses? They tend to come apart on the inside over time and will restrict fluid flow both ways. Also could be rusted pistons in the caliper which will require more force to move.

I also had a restricted hose that was causing a pull to left. It looked fine from the outside but, replacing it cured the pull. A reply post from Jud Chapin pointed me in the correct direction.

I had same problem, I pulled hose & poked a thin flexable wire in it to unblock restriction (turn out to be just dirt but was completely blocked), then blew compressed air thru & reinstalled, worked fine afterward.
I would just replace the hoses. I had that very problem and didn't do anything about it (an ounce of prevention... i know) and the hose collapsed and locked up the caliper on the highway at 70mph. Less than fun.
