I use a dirt simple four pin 40 amp relay for $5 at Autozone.

This 30 amp is the only one they're listing. 30 amp should be plenty, right?

Advance is closer and they have this one. What do you think?

Yep, that's perfect. I usually order these 10 at a time because they make wiring relays so much cleaner. I know you would have to wait for it but they really do clean things up a lot and they are cheap.

I just pull the center wire out since you won't need it with most applications.

Thanks!

I'm going to Advance during lunch and pickup a relay and hope they have the pigtail. If not I'll just wire it up without it. At this point the relay is the only thing keeping me from starting the new engine.

I might suggest that you wire a simple two position rocker switch inline with the relay ground so that you can both keep the pump off when doing work on the car, and have it for a security feature in the event of an accident or if someone tries to take your car.

Got the relay. No pigtail though. Hopefully I can fire this thing up soon.
