will LT1 heads with reverse cooling work for us?

The water passages are in a different spot and don't line up.

Just get some Vortec heads. They are the Gen1 version of the LT1 and they flow BETTER than the LT1 heads with no work. Their only drawback is they are only set up to accept .470" lift with the weak stock springs. You can have a machine shop machine the guide bosses and you'll be fine will bigger springs. Screw in studs is always a good idea, and if you're not using self aligning rockers you'll need guide plates done at the machine shop and hardened push rods.

I thought the beehive springs were the easiest way to gain lift without having to machine heads??

Im trying to find some vortecs...I figure I can sell my weiland intake and buy the vortec intake for not much more.

That's one way to get some extra lift but it'll only get you so far and then machining is the best option.
