I finally drove my c3 after 5 years of work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and I am so happy that it is faster than my wife's M3. Any way my tranny (94 mustang T5) is leaking from the speedometer cable hole. I forgot about it in the rush to get it on the road. I need to know the tread size of the end of this cable or what part# cabel any of the other t5 guys have used
You need the adapter to run the ford T5. It uses a Ford gear on the trans side and has the threads for atatching the GM speedo cable on the outside.
I've got one of those adapters from Fortes sitting unused on my garage workbench I'm willing to part with. I switched to AutoMeter gauges and installed their hall-effect type sender and got rid of my speedo (and tach) cable.
I am interested, but at this point I guess I need to decide what kind of speedo I am going to use (pulse) or (mech). How do you like your pulse driven speedo? dose it let you recalibrate for gear and tire size change?
The pulse one is pretty cool. Calibration is nor more than putting it into learn mode and driving 2 miles. Counts the number of pulses over that distance and calibrates accordingly.
The speedo itself is interesting in that the motion isn't smooth. It reads the pulse rate and assigns the needle to the appropriate position. So there is no in-between speeds on the speedo. No biggie, but it's not something I expected. I love the speedo though
Thanks just went to summit and bought the pulse sender and my buddie just happen to have a speedo gear. This works good since I dont have a speedo cable or speedo.
