Default Edelbrock Carb problem..I think!

Guys I need help, urgently! I am due to drive to a show in a couple of hours (UK time) and I have a problem. The vette was running a bit rich and so I changed out the jets and metering rods to bring it down a bit as per the Edelbrock chart and now I cannot get it to run, it keeps flooding when I try and start it up. Have I done something, I have had the carb top stripped a couple of times now but cant see anything.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Graeme

Got it running now but sounds like a bag of nails, not running clean on all 8. This is driving me nuts, I will revert to the old needles and jets and see where that takes me.

I put he old needles and jets back in and its still banging and popping away. Its not getting onto all 8 but I've checked the the plug leads they are all on the correct cylinders, ive had the plugs out several times and cleaned them and there is still no difference. Help!

Check the choke...is it closed or open?

Check all the vacuum connections too.

Thanks DB, it was the choke, I had the rod above the throttle linkage the wrong way round. Dur!

Thanks for the help.

Great, easy fix. Now you can swap out those rods and jets again and see if it was the choke that was messing you up before.
