Default Brake pedal problem

I am a pretty large fellow and would rather not pull the dash unless required, but all of a sudden my brake pedal moves side to side about 1-2 inches. How is it attached to a pivot point and is it possible to repair without either me shrinking or pulling the dash. Thanks in advance for your help. by the way. this is a 76 automatic

your brake pedal is held in by a large pin with a clip on the end. the pedal can`t move 1-2" at the top it`s held into the pedal housing....if it`s moving 1-2" at the bottom either you broke the housing or (if your lucky) the bushings are shot and need to be replaced.....still a big job (big guy or not).

yank the seat, it should be 4 bolts, it is much easier to get up in there with the seat out of the way..

Take your wife"s makeup mirror(the side that makes things big) and place it on the floor looking up so you can see what is going on under there. Maybe you will be able to see something askew.

I'm looking for a 1964 auto brake pedal assembly. What year is yours? Is it still for sale?
