I need some help. I bought a e-brake kit to fix my system on my 1968 vette. I have the shoes and everything installed and when I went to install the cable to the wheel I have no idea how it is to go. My 1st thought was the cable that came in the kit was the wrong cable, so I went to a chevy grage and ordered a new cable and when it came in it was the same as the one I got with the kit. I thought replacing the shoes and the hardware was a challange , but I no idea what i'm doing or what to do next.
There was no e-brake cable on the car and I don't know if someone changed something over the years.
Any pictures, drawings ideas or suggestions would be very helpful.
Mike, alot of weird stuff can happen in 40 years, huh? I can't help you out with that specific problem other than to suggest that you buy an assembly manual. I used one on mine and the book is just about as detailed as they get, and well worth the money. Good luck.
Check the NCRS.org bookstore for an assembly manual OR Wilcox has them in PDF format now. You can't own one of these old cars without one. The other books to get are the chassis service manual and chassis overhaul manual.

The easiest way to use this site is to first fill out your personal profile and then learn how to use the search function. There is a ton of information available on this site!
Try this link; from a supporting vendor. http://www.corvettemagazine.com/content/view/85/
Somewhere toward the end of these instructions, the link provides pictures and description of steps to take. I agree with the necessity for the AIM to be used as a reference. You can purchase one from any of the supporting vendors and Willcox;http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...post1566574885, is offering a cd which they claim to be a good reproduction, but with a search feature which is easier to find an item as opposed to searching a 300 page manual by hand.
