Welcome.

As a suggestion I would fill out your profile as it would be hard for someone to recommend a shop in your area when no one has a clue where you are located.

There are many shops that will do the work for you but you are going to have to decide what it is you want them to do. I would spend a lot of time here on the forum and others reading and figuring out the old adage - 'how fast do you want to go, how deep are your pockets'! Come up with a plan and a budget then double it.

Depending on how fast and how much power you will need to be concerned with other things such as suspension, brakes, rear diff, fuel system, etc.

78vette-SA he lives in Peoria, AZ.

The only drag racing the 82 would be good for would be bracket racing because of the weaknesses of the car (engine, suspension, drive train). If you plan to get any more "into it" than that, you will need to beef up everthing and even then you are going to have a less than ideal set up because the differential just isn't strong enough to take much abuse. If I were going to drag race a c3 on a regular basis, I would go ahead and convert it to a solid rear axle and not look back.

The quickest, cheapest way to run a crossfire is have the manifold tapped and fitted for NOS and install a 85 fuel pump. Go have fun!!! (until you blow the pistons out the bottom) If you go over a 125 shot! 13.s are very possible

Belive it or not, L-83 engines have forged pistons. I've run mid 13's with the CFI on spray and 11.679 on spray with a carb. My T-700 R4 had to be beefed to take the power.

If you're going to push the car hard then you're going to want to get to know a good local builder. You can find engine builder in every state and like everything, there are good and bad. Spend some time researching shops and then talking with them to see who is the one for you.
For the driveline, you're going to need an iron diff, blueprinted at a minimum, a 12 bolt or solid most likely. That's about $5k for the diff alone, add in the cost of the engine and built tranny and you're getting up there.

Welcome to the world of Corvettes. If you are looking for a good engine shop then talk to BRE. http://beckracingengines.com/performance/ They are down on 33rd Ave so not far from you at all. For transmissions and general speed parts you can go to Loper's Performance over on Indian School Rd.

Wow, I had no idea. He used to have a big operation that sold parts mail order. I guess that was about 20 years ago. I bought an SS Nova from the manager of the shop back then. I guess I won't be recommending them again.
