Is that the pure reading? Or were any correction factors applied to get that number?

In any case, NICE!

Thanks,
If you use the std. correction factor then it adds about 15hp and tq. these are pure numbers with smoothing that lowers them as well.

It looks like those heads & that monster cam are really getting it done. Congrats on your numbers. Sooooooo, how's your traction when you hit the loud pedal? I'll bet it's quite a ride.

nice numbers; tell us more about the engine. What headers and exhaust are you running? What about an MSD or did you keep the points?

Thanks. Roller cams act much tamer than flat tappets with the same 050 duration, lots less overlap. It will idle at 700-800rpm all day. My peak power was only at 6000rpm. I have a wide lobe sep to bring peak tq and power down but spread out the tq. There is over 400ft-lbs to the wheels from 3000-6300rpm.

It makes peak power below a factory L71 but pulls strong past 7000.
Traction is a problem in 1st, 2nd, and the top of 3rd. But I have bfg drag radials to fix that now. It does have a good tq pull.

The dip in the graph is the secondaries opening on the tripower.

I was there at the dyno and will confirm that it was naturally aspirated. Not even a nitrous system on it. It is a 468 though and not a 427, 10.7:1.

I am about to dyno my 496 tripower build. What did you jet the carburetion? What kind of lift on the cam? Were the procomps CNC ported or hand ported? I have a set of the CNC ported but have been reluctant to run them as the ports look huge. Debating whether to run an AFR 305/315 instead.

I have .720 lift. The AFR's should flow better at low rpm. If you have under 250* at .050 then I would go with the 305's. If you have over 270* then use the CNC procomps. My procomps were hand ported to a gasket match as was the intake.

My carbs are straight up as factory. The primary is fine at cruise (14.5-15.0). The secondaries are 15ish at WOT with no air filter, but 13.5 w/ the air filter on. I could drill the secondaries for the winter and to run w/o and airfilter. That would give me ~10 more hp across the board. I need 2 -4 jet sizes larger.

I think it's cool you went with tri-power set up. Heck, paint the heads Chevy orange and you'd have quite a sleeper.

My timingis still not optimized and I just adjusted my lash and most vales wereon .040" instead of .021". So there's a few more in it. I'll redo when it gets cooler.

Went back to the dyno after a few tweaks. New SAE#'s are 488rwhp/490rwtq. I went a little rich on the seconday plates too. Std. correction was 501rwhp/502rwtq.
