Heat shield update
Just thought I would pass this along to any of you guys that are having hard starting problems with your Vettes once the engine is hot and it has been driven a few miles. Mine would crank great first thing in the morning when it was cold, but once I had driven to town and shut it off for a few minutes, it was a bear to get started. Usually ended up flooding the engine in the process. It's a stock 350 with a Holley 600 cfm carb. Yesterday I installed a Mr. Gasket heat shield between the carb and intake. I think the part number is 3710. It has completely eliminated the hard starting when hot. I also noticed the engine seems to idle smoother once it's warmed up. This is one mod that is definetly worth doing if you're having starting problems in this heat.
