Default Tranie oil change

Hi guys,

Can anyone please tell me how to change the oil in the tranie, since I can't find any plugs. What I did find at the front left hand side of the housing is a flat spot where it looks like it should be, as if it was never drilled and tapped. Any ideas ?

There is no drain plug on these transmissions. The pan itself has to be dropped when changing the fluid. The filter should also be changed when this is done.

manual? auto? if it's an auto, you have to drop the pan.

Loosen up all the pan bolts and put a big bucket under pan to catch the fluid. Then leave a few bolts in one end and remove all the rest this will allow the pan to tilt and the fluid to spill into bucket. Replace gasket and filter too. Good luck.

Then while the pan is off, add this and it will be very easy the next tme.

The drain plug is great.... however don't you want to change the filter every time the fluid is changed? Requires dropping pan.

If you have a manual, it will probably not have a drain plug. Manuals also do not have pans.

To get the old oil out of a manual, you need to use some kind of pump. I got one for about $10 at Autozone and it works great.
