lumination lights don"t work

hi 1971 vette lumination lights won"t work in center bezel in less a put 12 volts to the fuse. okay are they wired up thew the head light switch, the dimmer part of it,need help thanks

The fuse is fed from the headlight switch.So your problem is up there...probably the rheostat.(spelling)

Is the rheostat part of the head light switch if so i need a new switch.thanks

Yes. You can replace the entire switch and the rheostat is part of it. If you have never replaced the headlight switch, you might want to play around with one to see how the **** releases first, since you will be doing this by feel.

Your original post states the lights dont work in the center bezel (fuel, temp, clock, etc). Can we assume they work for other parts of the dash? Like the speedo and tach? If yes, you might have a ground problem in the center bezel.
