1977 Vette, stock 350. Does anyone know what size bolt holds the flywheel cover on? I thought it was a 1/4-28, but can't seem to get one started. Could they possibly be metric?? Thanks.

should be 1/4" coarse as you stated. is it all or just one you're having trouble with? if it's just one, rethread the hole. if it's all, someone may have gotten in there before you and changed to a slightly larger bolt, possibly 8mm after fouling the threads.

Yes that is correct.

1/4 20 = coarse thread

1/4 28 = fine thread

Thanks guys, the car didn't have a cover on it when I bought it. I just got one from Ecklers and was trying to install it. I'll try 1/4-20. Thanks.
