This information may not be needed by many of the Corvette Forum members but I found it to be a good refresher so I’m passing it along. I don’t know about you guys but “I” have always had a bad habit of neglecting the wheel bearings on all of my vehicles.
I’m currently rebuilding one of my rear wheel bearing assemblies . . .((and, it’s a REALLY slow day here at work!))
Here are just a few of the topics covered on the “Tech Tips” web site.
-How do you rate on bearing adjustment?
-Why Oscillate or rotate a bearing?
-How nut torquing and back-off are used to set wheel bearings
-Proper Heating and Freezing Practices when installing press-fit cones or cups
-Preload in Wheel Bearings
-Maintenance Practices
Wheel bearings are one of those things that get neglected. If they are working most people leave them alone. You don't think about it until its to late. Good info there
