My Mom made stuffed pork & dumplings with mushroom gravy for New Years. Yummmmmmmy. :D Good story!
BTW, how can a bent fan hit the shroud? I can see if it gets stretched out longer it could hit, but if it's bent? Just curious because I've got the 7 bladed stock fan and can't see how that one would hit - unless it's another problem like a broken motor mount or something which lets the center of rotation of the fan move relative to the shroud.
Yup, sounds like my life too... Luckily I do the finances. I did tell her about the new motor though. I figure anything under $100 is petty change though... :)
Freezing in your Tennessee garage eh? My attached garage has been a steady 30F for the past couple of days and still going down, it's 27 this morning. The guys further north are probably even colder. Guess I'll go out and start the Corvette today and warm up the garage a few degrees.......
Dang 30 in the garage thats warm :D the thermometer in mine was at 5 when I kicked on the heater to work on mine yesterday. Man was that concrete cold to lay on. Great story, unfourtunatley I don't have anyone I'm accountable too so the purchases are never questioned.
Scott
Minnesota, don't mean to put you down, but in all honesty, I"d polish up my resume and move south....
can't tell you how badly I hate cold weather with all the aches and pains it causes....snow, rust, bad weather, ice, short season for vettes...the works...if you are young enough move NOW, get into another area....
Great story. I'd never be lucky enough to pull that off. It's kinda like a Mentos commercial. :D
I'm in Knoxville at my in-law's house. Sounds like a perfect time to rebuild that old Q-Jet I had laying around. :D (Not to mention, play with my father-in-law's new dremel that he got for Christmas. ;)) I can understand the cold garage thing. I have a heater, but the fumes are so bad, I had to open the door. :(
Only problem I have with the story is the Food.....Homemade Collard Greens(green for money) were not on the menu so you may have a lack of funds for mods next year...dont forget the hog jawls slowly simmered in to top it off!!However you did get the blackeyed peas correct!!
I can relate about the cold garage. We are experiencing our normal 4 to 6 weeks of winter here in Austin and the temp in my garage is in the low-30's. Actually, it has been abnormally cold the past few weeks, we may get 2 whole months of cold weather! :p: The vette needs work but low 30's is too cold for me!
Re: Corvette Humor, read this guys.... (redc3vette1)
Sounds exactly like me New Years Eve. I get off of work around 2, go to O'riely to order that set of plug wires Summit never could get straight. They have a set of Red 180 degree universal Taylor spiral pro 8mm IN STOCK. I thought I needed straight boots, but these worked better. And it was, and still is COLD down here in South Lousiana. So I fered up my handy dandy heat pump winder unit and got to work. Hours later, the plug wires are in and that compressor on the window unit looks like SNOW BALL. :yesnod:
