stiff gas pedal
When I push down on the gas pedal its pretty damn stiff, feels like it needs some oil or grease. Theres a certain "grinding" like resistance to it. I noticed this also on my mothers 2001 honda so I'm really not sure what it is? Any quick solution? I'd like to fix hers as well.

its with my C3 too. so its not just a c3 or old age problem. and its like..sticky.. as if there's alot of friction when pushing it. it happens all the way through. I'm afraid that it will get stuck floored or something and its very hard to drive at lower speeds. I'm thinking it could be carbon buildup in the carburetor where the butterfly valve is. its probably gunked up.

Disconnect the cable from the carb and slide it through it's full range of motion. If it's the cable/pedal you'll feel it. IDK if they can be lubed (on the vette), but you might want to buy a new one. Also turn the carb throttle lever through to wide open and see if anything is binding there. The dual return springs should be checked for mounting in the proper hole in the linkage.

SH-60B has some excellent troubleshooting ideas. Also, have you checked the floor and/or firewall areas for anything like carpet, padding, insulation, etc which could be binding the pedal or the linkage?
