For some reason, my 71' 350/270 has started to boil the fuel in the carb bowl after turning it off. I still have gas in the tank from last fall, it it possible that I have "winter blend" fuel which will boil easier or do I have some other problem? Never did this before.
If you have the stock intake manifold and stock exhaust with the heat riser valve on the passenger side the valve might be stuck. I believe the purpose of that valve is to divert exhaust gas through the intake manifold near the carb to aid in cold weather driving. When the engine warms up the valve is supposed to close off the passage.

Try a thick carb gasket.

Even Qjets will boil fuel from what is called "Hot Soak". Thats why Holley sells a heat shield for thier carbs. My Qjet runs fine with the extra thick gasket that lars sent me - man its like at least a 1/4" thick. This could be the cheapest fix for ya.: :
I have the thick Lars gasket as he rebuilt it. I just filled it up with 1/2 tank of fresh gasoline and that seems to have solved my problem. Thanks for the help
