17058206 is a 78' 350/185 Vette with A/T and AC.
17057204 is a 77' 350/180 Vette with A/T and AC.
Couldn't find the 7043214, but it's in the part number sequence for Carter build Q-jets in about 73'

Info from "Corvette by the Numbers"

I have one, and the Carter 214 Q is a generic truck carb....

not a vette item, by the numbers anyway....

it will work fine if set up right.....

Book says it's the build date.
First letter is "change letter"
Second 2 are Mo and year of build "A"= January
"7" is year (67)

The format changed by the later 70's...assembly date code followed by broadcast code. I may have been misleading in my query...wasn't asking how to interpret but rather what it is.

so, the question goes back to DW...what's the three letter code that follows the date code?
