77 L82 running CRAZY HOT!
So the other day i replaced cap/rotor and control module. The car never went a over 200 and now since i replaced the parts it doesn't take long before it's up in the 260 and maxed out at 280 in the red!
What happened, what did i do wrong?

if you did not change the timing,
it must be coincidence,
and new cooling problem has came up ?

I didn't change anything other than the mentioned parts. I guess it's not out of the question that the cap turned but it couldn't have been much. Thats the only thing i can think of. It's at the same idle and everything...
If the cap turned enough to throw off the timing it would change the idle, correct?

Is the dist. still clamped down solid?
If it is ..Timing has not changed.
Did you double check your plug wiring oreintation?
when you replaced the cap.
Sometimes #1 is not where you expect it to be.
Bubba may have been there before you.
check you TDC. and firing order.

distributor clamped down solid
pulled plugs off one at a time and put them in correct order (order of wich they were in)
as far as i know nothing has changed except he new parts....
I wil check firing order just in case. It had to be right before bc it ran just fine.
