I'm not sure of the thread size in the head, or which head, passenger or driver for that matter. I got my dewitts, electric fan, shroud, new core, new hoses, all in place to day. The relay kit i ordered uses a probe style, the fins on the dewitts are so close that i can't slide it in without a lot of force, needless to say, i wont be shoving that $5 probe through my $500 radiator . Otherwise the install went well, the car stays at 180 at idle but skyrockets at speed, i think i need to add some more seals, and re-install the spoiler, i was eager for a test drive today and didn't put it on. I'm also concerned the bottom hose is collapsing, it's a new goodyear and it didn't come with a spring, i used the spring out of the old hose but i couldn't get the same spread it had in the hold hose. i'll have pics for you guys tomorrow.
the air dam or front spoiler is very important as are all the all the seals around the rad and also the one on top od the core support to the hood the best rad cant cool if it does not have the proper amount of air thru it and I consider Dewiit rads among the best I have one in 69 vert so get her sealed up before you run to much as far as the temp sensor you could call dewitt for some input they are very helpfull when come too ? like that

EDIT>> this fit in my head, but that would be something for you to check. you can get adaptors at homedpot or lowes.
Cool thanks, i also just came to the realization that because my car is an 80, it has an extra sensor to run the aux fan (which i don't have now), i wonder if i can just use that? since it's already there?

my thoughts exactly, it idles at 180 forever, just under speed it overheats, i think i just need to work on sealing it up, thank god for three day weekends .
you can find seal kits all over just shop around alittle bit

holy cow, it does make a difference! i sealed up the sides of the radiator and installed the spoiler. The temp reads 170 no matter what now, i went for a thirty minute cruise, stop and go and freeway, no change whatsoever. I think my temp gauge is off a bit, i installed a 180 degree thermostat, so i'm guessing thats right where it's staying. I'm very pleased .
Any thoughts on using the aux. fan temp sensor to run my electric fan? It would keep me from having to buy another sensor if it would work.
All the sensor you are looking at does is make a ground to the block when it is up to temp. If the one on your block does that, I can’t see why you couldn’t use it.
