Starting Problem (NON Vette)
Sorry to post about another vehicle!
I've got a problem that I'm hoping someone might know the answer to.
My 1990 Ford F-250 351 CID Truck starts great when cold. But when it warms up, the starter turns very slowly. It always starts but sure doesn't seem like it's going to. I'm going to sell it (more vette parts) but need to fix it first. Should I just put a new starter on it? Or do you think it's caused by something else?

If it cranks fine when cold, then it's not the starter is it? Heat will cause hard starting, especially if your contacts are not 100%. Make sure you are using quality battery cables, clean them (and scuff them up with a batter tool) and double check the starter for any corrosion or loose connections.
I had a very similar problem on my Mustang 5.0. Every once in a while everything would dim and the starter would cease to function. Turns out I had bad top post battery connections even though they were very clean. I had to scuff the posts and the cables to get a good connection.
Not a lick of problem since.
