Default 68 Radiator Support conversion

Hi,

68 is a one year only but to go to a BB set up , you will need to change the radiator support out because the cradle support distance for the radiators have different spacing. A small block radiator has a 26.5" spacing and a big block has a 27.5" spacing. If your car is an air conditioned car then the supports are also different and you will need a support that has a indentation on the passenger side for the AC condensor tubing to come through, if you don't have an AC car then either will work. The upper support brackets are also different so , you'll need to get the correct ones for a big block. Two helpful vendor catalogs are Dr. rebuild and Paragon in Sawyer Michigan. an 68 Assembly manual will also be helpful.

Good Luck, Mike

Thank you for the info. If I can't find a 1968 radiator support at a decent price does anyone know how to convert a 1967 radiator support over to work. One of the other forum members said it was closer than a 1969 one. I recieved my assembly manual today so I'm thinking it's gonna shed some light on this problem but any further info is always helpful.
