Default New Hood Consideration

What do you guys think of this hood with the NACA ducts? http://www.tracyvette.com/fiberglassc3a.html Its the one that says 68-76 Twin NACA Duct High Rise Turbo Hood. If any of you know about it, is it higher than the stock hood? If so, by about how much?

this is a more realistic picture of one....well it is real...its on of my two spares.
Lohkay is right....but i have the one on the left..(daytona turbo) the one you are referring to is on the right...(twin duct turbo)

I really need to find a shipping place and sell these two hoods...

im not a big fan of the twin turbo hood. i think the L88 or the stinger hood has a little more corvette history behind it.

Hey Ylose, how much would you sell the one on the left? (same as on your car) ...I didn't know you had one spare. I was going to the twin turbo one and got bored of the ducts....thats w/o having it on the car!

I think i'm liking this hood more and more. seems that you guys approve of it also. what's the deal with the ducts? where do they go and what should I do with them. can I just leave the holes open in the hood? I was kinda just going for increased airflow in the engine compartment to cool things off with the headers and all.

ylose - Is that the medium rise or high rise twin turbo? It looks a little lower than Vanacor. If any of you are looking for a twin turbo hood like that, let me know. I was unable to use mine & can save you some money. It's brand spanking new. We never did anything to it because we were waiting to see if the blowers would clear.

So the holes are not real :cry . I thought I would be able to get some extra air under the hood. That stinks. Anyway what would you like for the hood Merlin522? Is it the high rise version. I'm assuming it is with your crazy blower setup you have there.

Vanacor has my hood listed at $425: http://vanacorvette.com/page26.htm My hood is basically brand new – I think all they may have done to it is sand it down, which you needed to do anyway to gelcoat it. There have been no modifications done to it. I was going to sell it to someone local for $380, but his car was newer & he needed different hood catches. If anyone has an earlier C-3 & wants it, let me know or just call down to Pacific Corvette 1-800-228-2857.

Ed – You are correct about the holes, but it is very easy to cut them out & add screens. Many people have done it & that was my plan as well.

xfactor974 – See above for price. Yes, this is the highest rise twin turbo I have found. It would have cleared the single blower, but no way on the quad.

I'll think about it. It seems like a nice idea. I saw on Usbody.com they have a 6.5in dominator hood for pin-on only and it's $390. I guess I have to think about if I'm going to use a blower in the future or not.
