Default 1980 number matching??

hi all, I have a 80 vette that i bought a month ago and how would i confirm if my NUMBERS match? I know buy the vin that it was number 1500 of the assy line and it does have the L48 rngine but where do I find the info for looking for the actual S/N of major components that came with the car

The engine SN should be on a block of metal protruding out in front of the passenger side cylinder head. the trans number is somewhere on the case. Not sure where you look to reference these numbers, NCRS should be able to help on this one. what other #'s ya lookin for?

thanks for theinfo. I Know where to find the numbers on the engine, tranny ets but Im looking as to where to go to find if theses are the original numbers from the buils spec

The authoritative guide is the 1980-82 Corvette Technical Reference and Judging Guide you can order from the www.ncrs.org website. It will list those numbers you seek to reconcile the numbers off your vehicle, explain where to look and how to interpret.
