I'm finishing up the rebuild on my 73 L48. I've rebuilt the distributor but noticed there is significant play where the distributor weights attach over the distributor shaft. The weight holes have been worn to the point that it is obvious that the holes are out of round. Where can I find original distributor weights or what aftermarket weights will work well in a stock setup? Will the weights supplied with the Mr Gasket 928 kit work well?
Thanks, Dean
I'd try your best to find original weights as most aftermarket weights seem to be crap.
Perhaps try eBay or even maybe some of the guys over on the NCRS forum may have a spare pair they would sell you - a few of them do distributor rebuilds and have a selection of original weights.
Most the aftermarket weights are more "universal" application which typically means they universally don't work on anything worth a d*mn
