Default GM Performance engine block

Hi!

I am about to build an big block engine for my 72 corvette. I plan to use a new block, not a mark IV. Will a mark VI block accept mark IV heads? I plan to buy the block on the link below.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I know that this block has a one piece seal, so I can’t use a mark IV pan. The plan is to use all the original accessories, such as alternator, ps pump with brackets and so on. I want to keep the stock under hood lock. What will fit, and what will not?

Thanks, Kalle

I'm not sure about GEN6 blocks now( I've read that some do and some don't)- but you might have to run an electric fuel pump (no provision for mechanical) and if running a manual trans -there might not be a provision for your z-bar. (SDPC has a solution for about $60).

As far as the hood clearance- to look stock-can use old boat anchor cast iron w/ spreadbore- or look for a LS6 aluminum-but then you're looking at rect port heads. Or you could spend some money and go w/ a 3/2bbl set up (oval or rect heads).
