urethane will last FOREVER, and you will never have to about it again. That being said the rubber ones lasted 36 years. The urethane bushings will give a firmer ride, i prefer it. Some dont. I recommend urethane

Ever time I have replace a suspension component on my car, I have used poly bushings. In my opinion they are superior to the rubber bushings for 2 reasons: 1. As stated above polyurethane bushings should last forever. 2. They eliminate much of the slop in the suspension, characteristic of the OEM rubber bushings. 3 years ago I replaced the upper and lower control arm bushings with poly and was delighted with my new found responsiveness with just this change. I found the increased ride stiffness to be minimal. I have poly front and rear sway bar bushings and end links (front only), monospring mounts (rear) and strut rod bushings. My only advice is to make sure whoever puts the bushings on that they lubricate the bushings liberally with the supplied grease otherwise they will squeak. Just to head off the usual dopey comments, poly bushings will not loosen up with time as long as you torque/tighten them correctly when installed.

thank you for your input, despite the fact the ride is very firm already, i'm gonna go w/the poly bushings. it's only a weekend rider.

i just replaced my 40 year old rubber bushings with poly, everything is much stiffer and feels more responsive. nothing feels harsh and the ride is just fine.

They did? My 77's bushings were crumbling in 1990.
