Got a quick Q?
I have a Edelbrock Air filter, Elite series. Its a little high and rubs the hood, slightly.
The current air filter is a plain ol 2 7/8"X 13.5".
Id like to switch to a K&N, but Id have to just take it in and look for something close at the store. If I go with a lower height, will that have a negative impact on performance?

What carb do you have? I have a Q-Jet. I bought a dropped off set air cleaner base off of e-bay and used a K&N air fileter with a filter top. I have approzimately 1 1/4" hood clearnace and great air flow.

I have a Demon 750 Double pump carb, on Edelbrock performer RPM intake. Edelbrock air cleaner kit (elite). Its a 14" with a 3" deep bowl.
It sits well on the carb. I really like the K&N top air cover look, and more importantly, what it does !!!!
Ive already priced out a couple at 80$, 1 with some chrome. (I guess I need to keep it looking shiney)
