Default slow headlights

Lately I've noticed that the driver-side headlight is much slower to open than the passenger side. Is this normal or a sign of a vac. leak somewhere?

Usually one side will open up faster than the other. If it is really slow, check for vacuum leaks in the hoses that make up the vacuum system controlling the headlights.

air, like fluids; will go to the path of less resistance first. hense the one opening faster then the other. if its really off like a second or two then go with the above and check for a leak on that side.

When our '73 developed the same symptoms I found the fix was rebuilding the canisters with new rubber diaphragms. All the hoses were and still are original but the diaphragms got cracks in them.

My '73 does the same thing. Drivers side is very slow. I've traced my problem to the rod seal on the actuator.
