Changing alt belt ???
Was wondering when changing the alt belt do you have to allmost remove the powers steering ???
I tried to loosen the power steering so it will move but no luck..
i had to talk to power unit almost all the way off to get the belt off ??

If your changing the alt belt I would do all of them at the same time. Because the PS is the pain in the butt, and who wants to do this 6 months down the road, but here is a tip!
Cut the Power steering belt and remove others.
Replace all belts, but when you get to the PS belt, get it around the PS pulley as much as you can (align bottom of pulley going up to the top of the pulley) and then crank the motor in one short shot. The belt will automatically align itself and you don't have to loosen any PS bolts or take the pump off and remount.

I would also advise to change all the belts at the same time. If you have not owned the car for a long time, and do not know the history of the belts, then you dont know how old they really are.
Its one of the things on my list of changes when I bought my vettes. It was worth the "knowing" when the belts were changed and how old they were.
