Both of mine are bad too. Hopefully someone on the forum will know where to source a quality replacement.

have bought them from most vendors and never had a torn one yet.Are you getting them in some kind of bind? (I always silicone them so the shaft slides easy.)

thought the shaft just moved the boot up and down..the grove on the shaft stops the boot from moving across the shaft

Thats probably where I dont install it per directions.I silicone the shaft and the groove and the boot itself. If the boot wants to it can come out of the groove but will slip back in on the opposite movement.

I've seen the joint bind and fail to rotate when the rod goes in and out which forces the shaft to one side.

I've bought a pair from Ecklers and they both failed within a month. Ecklers replaced them FOC and the replacements failed too.

The ones from MidAmerica have been more reliable.

I got my set from Zip several years ago. They seem to still be holding up well. Hopefully Zip is still using the same supplier as they did when I got mine.

Any of the boots will fail in short order if not lubricated lightly where the rubber slides over itself.

Been there done that.
