Go for it,the NCRS is not the bad guy here we are perserving a great car and not all cars are trailer queens,a lot of us drive them to the events, the only trailer time mine had in its life was from St louis to Fred Diehl Chevrolet in Clearfield ,Penn. The second time is when my job took me from Ft Lauderdale to Memphis to my new home.I would suggest to you to show up with your car,do not buy the restoration manuals yet.You will have to join the NCRS,get your car judged cold turkey you may be suprised by the results that your car returns. You will find out a lot about your car then after your first encounter at a judging event you can make up your own mind as to continue or not. If your car is what you believe it to be you should do well. You will gain a wealth of knowledge from this experience. The NCRS also has a sportsman class that modified cars can enjoy.

Congrats Silverdevil way to go!

Headed to Vette Fest near Knoxville, TN next month to have my '73 convertible flight judged. Started installing the ignition shielding the previous owner had removed. Man what a pain.

Post pics if you took any.

69elky, thanks for the encouragement. I've joined NCRS and have ordered the manuals. No plans to do anything to the car except re-install the ignition shielding that the previous owner removed. Not sure what I'll eventually do with the car. Attended Bloomington Gold without the car to get an idea what survivor judging was all about. Plan to return to Bloomington Gold with the car in 2009 and go for survivor status.

Sounds like you already know where you are headed. You picked a good show for your first time out the Southeast chapter puts a good event on, good luck. You may want to think about the Orlando show in January, always good to plan ahead.
