Default gas float

so my gas gauge hasnt been workin in months. i figured it was the gauge but the other day when filling up i noticed that my float was suck at the bottom of my tank. I ran some sea foam to make sure it wasnt by sluge or anything and took a hanger i tried to pull it up. and its stuck bad. does anyone know how to remove it? and also is there suppose to be a wire running from the float unit to the gauge? i went under the car and didnt see one.

also if anyone know knows a step by step on how to replace the original gauges to a new autometer gauges that be helpfull

-thanks

Do you mean to the sending unit in the gas tank?
if you open the spare tire carrier you look up (bottom of the gas tank) near the holding screw of the carrier you should see 2" round 'thing' with 2 wires that go to the sending unit and from this hole you can replace the sending unit, if you don't see that on the bottom of the gas tank you should take out the plastic cover of the spare tire carrier.

When you work with electricity it's better/recommend to disconnect the voltage source.
