Need help identifying an engine?
I have a 1969 with a tired 350 engine. I have documentation that shows that it was a GM target master 350 installed in 1983. I wonder if there is any chance this motor has a 4 bolt main, and could be used for a 383 performance buildup?
There is no casting number in back by the engine bell housing, it just says "GM5.7L8".
The number stamped on the front pad next to the cylinder head is
"VK222800".
