Default Emblem Installation

What is the best way to reattach the two STRINGRAY emblems to the body of a newly painted car? What do I use ? I think that they originally were backed with a stickey glue.

Use 3M double-sided tape available from autobody stores.

There is a new product that you press against the emblem and new adhesive is applied to it. No more cutting around each emblem for the double sided tape method. Saves HOURS! I just used it on the stingray and nose emblems and it's great!
It's 3M #08069 Press in place Emblem Adhesive.
I found it at the local PPG dealer.

If you have the three holes drilled in your fenders the stingray script will stay on without using the tape. That way you can take them off when cleaning the fender and you don't have to detail around the letters. That's the way I have done it with my '74. Every now and then one will come off. At about $20.00 they are not that expensive to replace. I keep a couple of spares around. My script and fenders always look clean. In the 20 years that I have been doing this I have probable lost 3 or 4.
