Oil Accumulator
An Oil Accumulator could have prevented this damage. Lets face it, when road racing, when you are in a hard turn at 100+ mph as these cars are capable of, you rarely have time to study the oil gauge.
A drop in oil pressure could cost you an engine. I also like the idea that you can pre-lube the engine during start-up, which would prevent a ton of wear. The cost seems reasonable, about $275 for a three quart Heavy Duty unit, and another $150 in parts such as Mounting brackets, warning lights and oil filter adapter hardware. Questions:
1) Does anyone know how hard it is to install an Oil Accumulator?
2) Any difference in Brands?? Moroso Oil Accumulators?? Accusump Oil Accumulators??
3) Any other feedback both positive and negative?
Thanks!

After having lost prime a number of times while cornering hard in my street shark - despite scraper, submerged pump and 5-gate RR pan - I've decided to install a Moroso left over from a prior racing project. My plan is to utilize a solenoid valve wired so as to allow pre-lube before firing up. There are also bits available to allow for tailoring of the window in which the accumulator operates. Check these out for additional options/accessories...

BTW, I strongly suggest either Moroso filters or stepping up to a Canton if you've got the budget. Overly constrictive, mass-market filters simply have no place in a true performance engine.
Get an air pressurized accumulator, the spring pressure ones must be mounted vertical the other ones not (and the air pressurized is also available in the smaller size now)

The PITA is the dumbAsses you have to deal with. I originally bought the spin on filter adapter sandwich.
Well the sandwich is a side discharge right into the clutch rod. So I call Canton back and get DA that tries to tell me that most people that buy them have automatic tranny's who road race.
It was almost like I was the first one in the world that used a stick tranny with AccusumpSo I had to buy the check valve and more 10 AN lines and fittings to use the bottom discharge oil adapter with 90 degree 10 A/N and the remote oil filter mount.
By the time it's all done it is around $700
