Default Interior Gutted

My car was purchased with the entire dash removed , previous owner gave up looking for a leak, (all new interior included in the sale). I've just removed the heater core (good thing) and now am planning to insulate the whole interior. My question: What would an experienced Vette owner do in my place while everything is pretty much accessible? It's an A/C car but the compressor is gone and the hoses are shredded. What's involved in upgrading to a Sanden compressor Vintage Air system?. Any upgrades / improvements / must do's I need? Any advice or insight would be much appreciated.

I'd at least repair/replace all the ducts to the vents to make sure what when you do get air blowing again it all gets to you.

It would probably be a good idea to inspect the condition of the dash wiring harness and fiber optics harnesses as well. Most of the interior would have to be removed again to replace those, and wiring harness are frequently hacked up.

Well put the air back, maybe change away from freon. ompressor and hose will set you back a bit. Wire brush it clean, seal everything good, get the gaps around wires and cables coming in through firewall. Insulate, in fact over insulate.

Make sure you that you seal all holes in the firewall, and use as much insulation as you can on the firewall and places that you won't be able to get to later.
As far the Sanden compressor goes, I'd suggest contacting Gary Gruhala at Gruhala Enterprises, Vintage Air doesn't sell a specific replacement kit for the C-3, but there is a kit marketed by Eckler's that has the Sanden Compressor. You can save a little money by getting it from Gary. He is a first class individual and always willing to go the extra mile for a customer.
You can get him at 636-586-3909 or at gruhala@jcn1.com.
