"All 1970-1972s are equipped with steel rally wheels. They are painted a color called Argent Silver for all three years, but actually two different colors are used. The 1970 Argent Silver has a slight greenish hue while 1971-1972 Argent Silver is a noticeably brighter, more silvery color. The back sides of of the rally wheels are painted semi-flat black and always have silver overspray, since the front side was painted silver after the black was applied to the rear.
All wheels are stamped with a date code, manufacturer's logo, and size code on the front face. All 1970-1972 Corvette wheels are 15x8 inches and have the code 'AZ' stamped in to indicate this. The 'AZ' is adjacent to the valve stem hole.
Also adjacent to the valve stem hole is the manufacturer's logo and date code stamping. On one side of the hole it says 'K' for the for the wheel manufacturer, Kelsey Hayes. This is followed by a dash and a '1' that represents Chevrolet. Next comes another dash and either a '0', '1' or '2' to denote the last digit of the year of manufacture. This is followed by a space and one or two numbers to indicate the month of manufacture. On the other side of the valve stem hole are one or two more numbers that represent the day of manufacture...."
