For the same sound quality or better, save yourself the hassle of dash speaker removal/installation and get shallow mount 5-1/4" or 6-1/2" for the kick panels. Or, mount your 4x6's in there also. I have 6-1/2" Infinity's in mine mounted behind the kick panels. I also have a JL amp mounted in the right side storage bin above the jack storage compartment. Fits in perfect and is out of sight. 10" Alpine sub mounted in back.

Would having both dash & kick speakers be advantageous? Or would the kicks just over power the little 4x6 dash mounts?

Thanks

I would only use the dash speaker area to mount tweeters in a composite speaker setup. To me, that's for audiophiles which I'm not but it would be advantageous going that route. If you really enjoy music at higher volumes then I would get a head unit with RCA plugs and buy a separate amp and sub. Otherwise, just do the speakers in the kick panels where speakers were located in early C3's. I'm just saying its easier to mount in the kick panels than the dash board.

Please differentiate between dash panels and dash board.

Where are you referring to when you say "dash panels"?

Thanks

I'm sorry, I should have said kick panels. I edited my post.
