Default DeWitts Stimulus Group Purchase

We know money is tight and we thought it would help to offer our annual GP now instead of the usual year end. In case you never saw this, here is how it works.

1. You get 10% discount off any radiator or combination kit
2. Free shipping to 48 states
3. You must purchase from the website to receive this special
4. Enter the letters CFGP somewhere in your name line
IE John CFGP Doe

International customers are eligible to receive the discount but must pay freight. Our order form is designed for USA address format but you can fudge the real address into the fields and just pick Michigan for the state.

NOTE: The website has automatic order acknowledgement and this will not show the discounted price or the free shipping. DO NOT CALL TO QUESTION THIS! We will ID all orders by the CFGP and apply the discount on our end, you will not be charged the acknowledge amount.

Sale ends October 31, 2008

Hey Tom, if a friend of mine was interested in a Dual Spal fan kit from you for his Vette, how much would it cost him after shipping to 65201 under this sale?

Thanks.

DB, since there is no shipping, it would be $425-42.50=382.50 net

Tom...Thanks for the price break. I have one of your radiators in my 79. Best investment I ever made. When the temperature gauge gets to 180 degrees, it stops.

Tom,

I have a 78 L-82 4 speed. Does the automatic radiator have more cooling capacity than the 4 speed radiator? Could I put an automatic radiator in my 4 speed (Iwould assume yes, here) or should I just buy the manual radiator for my car. I want maximum cooling. Thanx.

I put a manual radiator in my automatic '77, and that's a bit backwards from your questions, but it shows that it's possible depending on your reasoning.

My assumption is that the automatic radiator has more cooling capacity than the manual since the Auto rad has to cool the engine and the automatic transmission which can generate tremendous heat versus the engine cooling only for the manual radiator. If I use an auto radiator in my manual I would get the most capacity, I would assume. I would assume that you are running a big transmission cooler for your application. I have twice run a transmission cooler only in an automatic application and currently run a 28,000 GVW trans cooler only in a 1994 mustang GT convertible automatic for about 10 years with Mobil 1 trans fluid with zero issues.

I may be wrong, but I think the manual radiator has more capacity because it doesn't have the separate tank for transmission fluid. The manual radiator holds only radiator fluid and no transmission fluid needs to be cooled in the side tank. For that reason I would assume the manual radiator is more efficient and has the higher capacity.

Make sense but let's see what Tom says on the subject! Thanx for the response. I still would think, though, that the automatic radiator should have more cooling capacity since the auto transmission generates gobs of heat in certain conditions. Tom should be able to put this question to rest. PS-Do you run a trans cooler only in your application?

I'm not so sure the automatic transmissions makes as much heat as you suspect. I have my automatic transmission plumbed to an air cooler with a T-stat and a fan that comes on at 195 and shuts off at 175. To my knowledge, that fan has never kicked on even in the middle of the summer.

I'd like to hear from Tom if the auto radiator has more cores but I have my doubts.

They are exactly the same radiator. The only difference is the auto version has a cooler inside the right end tank and it doesn't use up enough space to affect anything. When you run tranny fluid through the internal cooler obviously the heat from the trans transfers to the coolant and therefore an auto type radiator would run a little hotter than a manual. If it was me, I'd get the auto radiator even if I had no intention of using the toc because if I later changed my mind, it's there.

Already had the rad. Just ordered the fans. It'll be nice not spewing coolant every time I stand on the 406.

Tom, I received the radiator/dual fan setup for my '73 yesterday. What a nice quality product...can't wait to get it installed. Thanks.
