After my swap I'm having some battery issues.....
(1977 BTW)
...car starts and runs good.
1 My volt meter is at around 14v.
2 by blinkers work even after my car is off and the key is removed. (not normal?)
3 My wiper motor does not work unless I manually ground the pin that the the small back wire under the motor assembly connects to.
4 I have a make shift ground strap that's going from the head to the radiator support... (could this not be good enough to charge the battery?
14 volts is good on the gage. A meter would probably be more accurate if you want an exact reading.
The blinkers do not sound normal, does anything else work with the key off?
Put a permanent ground on the wiper.
You should have a big ground cable from the engine block to the frame on the right side by the motor mount, then everything on the engine will be grounded. All body wiring is then grounded to the frame.
Check at the starter, the black wire does not go to the battery terminal, it needs to be grounded to a bell housing bolt. That is the ground for the wiper motor and other things.

Hope this helps, Dean

I think I may have fried my battery though.... darn it...
