I did with other headers. I had to remold the floor in the corner. Aftermarket heads with raised exhaust ports or a tall deck bloock will do this.

I have the Hooker Super Comps 1 3/4" sbc, 73 Vette. They don't have any clearance issues with the floor. I just switched to a Motown block, and Dart Pro 1 230cc's. Now they touch my idler arm. I also just replaced the frame, so maybe there is a slight difference. It now has a 69 frame. It was real tight at the ilder arm before maybe an 1/8" clearance or so. Like I said now it hits.

I had to trim a small corner off the white plastic "insulator" or heat shield in front of the passenger footwell - on my '69. Don't know if later years had that piece on not. Other than that, the Super Comp fit well. Oh, I have L98 aluminum heads, don't know if that makes a difference.

Yes it helps,i did think of that while i was under the car,but instead of cutting like new headers that cost some coin,im going to buy some sanderson shorty headers and sell the super comps.

Motor head what about the heat on your floor pans, its got to be hot.mine use to be so hot you would be very uncomfortable touching your foot to the floor.

My carpet melted and then caught the pad on fire in back to back long pulls... Now I also have a starter heat shield around the pipe after cutting the floor.
