...on your article in the Corvette Restorer Magazine. :D Those of you who are NCRS members get this Magazine every other month. Paul wrote an article '1975 Bladder Delete Corvette' :) :yesnod:
WOW! What a Kah-winky-dink.
I just posted a new topic a few days ago about replacing my gas tank on my 75 because I feel the bladder is collapsing. Paul did post to it about just pulling the bladder out and gave me brief instructions.
I wish I was a NCRS member now. If someone would E-mail me the article, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.
Rich, my article is more on the experience of "the whole thing". As for actually taking the bladder out of the tank I made a post about 5 days ago when you had another post about doing this to your car. It's probably one of the simplest things I ever done to a C3. Just drop the tank, remove top access panel with sending unit and float, cut ring off of bladder that forms this gasket between this panel and tank, remove bladder-reinstall ring that you just cutoff of bladder, lower access panel into tank carefully, bolt panel back up to tank, reinstall tank and tank lines and you're ready to take on 18gals of gas once again. My '75's been this way since 1994 without any trouble. It's basically now setup like a '74 and earlier C3. :yesnod:
Paul,
I just got the oppurtunity to read your article, great ingenuity. I guess the NCRS judges will have all the gas caps off and looking for rubber liners after your discovery.

"Congrats  Paul. Interesting read. Had the same thing happen with my 82 only I replaced the tank....never thought to remove the bladder."
Jerry, I think '78-'82 "bladders" was more like a liner than this '75-'77 rubber flexible & "collapsable" bladder. I think if I'm remembering right the '78-'82 had like a "hard-shell" plastic or fiberglass type liner. I know they were'nt exactly like the '75-'77s.
Ed, I've been checking for the bladder when I judge, but I would'nt take any points off. Judging sheets really does'nt address it.
