I have built a lot of Chevrolet, Ford and and aircraft engines but never a 383. I want to build up a strong 383 street motor for my 73. If you guys think I can go a little bigger with a stock block thats cool but I want something that pulls like a freight train up to around 6,000 but I can still enjoy driving around town. What do you guys suggest? Oh yeah it`s a 4 speed car. Thanks Skip

Hi skip
I'm in the process of doing the same thing. There has been several post regarding this subject. You can search the forum for topics relating to 383 builds, or you can search my post. The guys gave me some great information, but opinions vary greatly. You just have to sort through all the info the guys give you, but ultimately it will depend on your budget and how you plan to use the engine. You can buy the rotating assemblies from several suppliers once you decide on your C/R. Good luck, and I will be keeping an eye on the thread.
