Default Engine - Block Number

I was hoping someone could help me. When I first got my Vette the original engine was in bad shape. When it finally died, I didn't have the money and time to get my original rebuilt (plus I want a BB anyway) so I ordered another 350 from Jasper engines. Great engine but I just would like to know its origin. First off, what do you guys use to find stuff like that? Also I was hoping someone who has experience with it could help me find something. I have a number from the drivers side of the engine that is 3970010. On the front passenger side I have another number casted in: CAM 8002 008. If someone could help me get some answers I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.
