Default Engine Swap

You all may have had this question asked before but I'm a new member.
I have a stock 81 with an auto. I would like information on swapping the stock 350 190HP with a 383 stroker with 475hp. The issues that I have concern are the computer controls and the vaccum that is needed for the Acc. Is there anyone that can shed some light on this. With the costs of a new Z06 I would like to build the sleeper that will roast all. Thank you for all intrest and support.

an 81 !!! you have most likely chosen the most difficult year to hop up. if your swapping motors not just building the 383 then the carb and dizzy will change so thats no problem . now rip out your computer and sell it. all thats contrlloed by your computer now is the transmission loc up. on a motor with 475 Hp this is will now be a weak link so out with that !! decide on a tranny that suits your needs. maybe a normal TH350with a decent stall of say 2500 - 3000 .depends if you want a loc up converter or not. your going to have to change those tall gears in that dana 44 to something more suitable like 355 but with 475 HP once again that aluminium housing is a nother weak point. i dont think that kind of hp will kill it straight away but certainly in time it may self destruct if you like to burn the rubber. no vacum issues (cam depending )and no accessory issues.
