Default Motor start up, new cam, etc.

What do you guys recommend? 72 BB is getting a new cam, roller lifters, push rods and roller rockers along with the head job being done to accompany that work.

What kind of break in period and method should I use?

Very cool news. The shop doing the work is almost 100 miles from home so that's great news. Thanks

With a roller cam no break in is needed. Now if you had used new rings on a fresh bore then yes you would need to plan your break in.

Fill with fluids, start it up, check oil pressure, and check for leaks. If all this checks out, warm it up bring it to the starting line and blow off your compeditor in the other lane to see if you did a good job building it. You win, its done right, you lose, your build information was not as good as you expected. Dump that hydraulic cam, you need more Horse Power. As to miles, a little over 1/4 that would almost be zero.....
