I just finished my tour of 5 boneyards. Pickn's where slim. Found an alternator braket I was looking for. Now I can move the alternator to the passenger side of the car. Now, I won't have to remove it every time I check the power steering fluid.
Anyway, came across a couple of good looking heads. One was a set of 993's. Great shape, ready to be bolted on for $100. Could probably talk him done to $80. The other I don't about. They are casting number 14014416. Anybody got an idea? They looked great too, I just don't know anything about them.

The setting is correct. Just **** poor design on GM's part. Anyway, I took the new brackets from a 80's model GMC truck with a SB. The bracket will put the alternater where the AC should be. I don't have the AC in mine so, it just a simple swap. I'll add on to the wire that goes to the ALT and run it around the front to the other side. If you have AC in your car, this trick won't work. :smash:
It sure doesn't come straight out on my '78. Real PITA of a place to put that thing--damned near impossible to check the fluid level.

Same with the 79. BTW, anybody have the correct part number for the alternator belt? I think mine is either incorrect or stretched out as the alternator can adjust out no further on the bracket.
