headlight question for 68' coupe
i am restoring a 68 coupe, and when i bought the project, it didn't have headlights at all. my question is this, i have heard that the 68 headlight set-up is different than 69 and later. also have heard that maybe the late production 68 cars had the newer design. does anyone know about this for sure, if they had a early and later design, do you know when they changed? my car is later (june) production. thanks, rick

With a June build I would think you have the later (shared with 69 and up) headlight doors. The early doors are slightly smaller (1/4" or 3/8"). There are also some small differences to the casting of the early door, but these aren't seen and don't effect their use. The opening of the headlight door in the body on the late 68 and up headlights is 10" top to bottom and about 15 1/2" left to right across the center of the opening.
