Fuel warning lite on 78
I'm trying to fix my low fuel lite that has not worked since I've had the car. I took out the glove box and removed the twist in lite. It seems it has a circuit board attached to the back of the bulb and after testing the unit it appears that the circuit board is bad. Can I just replace the set up with a regular screw in bulb or do I need this circuit board set up to work correctly?

Andy,
I think if a circuit board was connected to the bulb somehow, you will need the circuit board for the low fuel indicator to work. Not 100% sure though!
Hell mine has NEVER worked in my '77 either. Go figure!

The circuit board is pretty easy to troubleshoot and repair. Use a multimeter to follow all the runs until you find the break, then just use a little solder to reconnect them.

I can get the lite to work when I use one of the other twist in bulbs. The part number on the circuit board is 6432351A. I am going to check with the dealer and see if they can get me one and what the cost is today. I ran out of gas last week so I would like to get this working.
